Solutions for quality measurement of cellular and WLAN infrastructure

S.E.A. Datentechnik has announced new solutions for surveying mobile radio, WLAN and IIoT radio infrastructures.

The company says its easy-to-use drive test and walk test devices SEA 3714C and SEA3809E use multiple sensors to simultaneously record the current reception situation and display it on maps. This solution provides a simple way of clarifying radio coverage problems and creates a perfect basis for their elimination.  With the help of so-called drive tests for 4/5G, NBIOT and LTE-M, for example, public mobile radio networks can be detected as well as private campus networks. Simple devices that can be operated by non-technical people are already in use at many organisations and institutions.

S.E.A.’s measuring devices and platform solutions are used, among other things, for radio surveys of entire countries, counties, or even large properties and buildings.

The specially developed SpaceMaster evaluation software enables convenient management and evaluation of measurement data according to various criteria. In addition to the classic mobile radio standards 2/3/4 and 5G, current standards such as NB-IOT, LTE-M, V2X but also WLAN and Bluetooth are supported. The merged display of the quality of the different technologies enables a quick search for network criteria such as network operator, technology, or cell information.

For example, campus network operators receive detailed views of the current cell rollout, 5G availability or cell propagation across individual antennas.
